Acecad DigiMemo Bluetooth notepad sends handwritten emails

Acecad have added Bluetooth to their DigiMemo electronic notepad so that you can now send messages written on paper as email or MMS directly through your cellphone.  The DigiMemo, a digital clipboard which uses a special pen to record anything a user writes and stores it in flash memory, previously required a USB connection to a computer to transfer, analyse and perform OCR on the notes.  Adding Bluetooth compatibility means the rather meagre 32MB of onboard memory (which can be added to via an SD card) should never be an issue, as older documents can be remotely filed via email.

It's not all good, though; rather than build Bluetooth into the body of the DigiMemo, Acecad have instead made a special Bluetooth adaptor that plugs into the notepad's USB port.  It's unlikely to add too much weight but probably isn't suitable for leaving plugged in all the time - thus increasing the chances of eventually losing it.

Acecad have not indicated either how much the new Bluetooth adaptor will cost, or when it will be available.  It's yet to show up on their site.
