Zeki is cellphone-style messaging walkie-talkie for Korea

Korean kids will soon be able to practice screaming down the phone at their parents in preparation for the difficult teenage years, using the Zeki from YoungToys.  While it may look like a normal cellphone, in actual fact the Zeki is more like a walkie-talkie; it relies on Near Field Communication (NFC) to connect with another Zeki handset up to 80m away, and can make voice & video calls and send SMS-style text messages.

Constructed from materials that won't cause your child to keel over should they nibble on their handset (in fact I know a few adults who could do with that), the Zeki also has MP3 playback, voice and video recording and an alarm.  Mobile games and audio tracks can be downloaded from the www.zekihome.com website.

It's available now, in a range of colours, for 99,500 KRW ($105).
