FC Mobile handheld for original NES gaming fun

fc-mobile.jpg

Oh, man, my husband will never let me live this one down. Nearly an entire drawer in our spare-room dresser, you see, has been home to an original Nintendo console and a stack of 8-bit game cartridges he picked up several years ago for no apparent reason other than the fact that he saw it at a store. He's always been adamant about keeping the retro set, Duck Hunt gun and all, and now I finally know why.

He's been waiting for this crazy-looking FC Mobile portable game system to hit the market. Designed for those enormous NES cartridges that often required a little "blowing into" to work properly when I was a kid, the handheld is equipped with a 2.4-inch color display, runs on three AA batteries, and can even hook up to a TV for big-screen playback (you know, to make the most of those awesome graphics).

Since I shouldn't lie and say that something like this wouldn't complement the Sega Mega Drive handheld he has rather nicely, I may as well head over to eBay and pick one up for about $50 right now.
